Golden Screen Cinemas Presents It's Not An April Fools Joke

So the other day i opened my e-mail account and was reading mail by mail till
i stumble upon something that totally caught my attention.Now most of you would
know that previously my team from G+ took part in the last Golden Screen Cinemas Treasure Hunt,representing Nuffnang in the Media Category. But here's a quick fact,Golden Screen Cinemas Sdn Bhd (GSC) is the leading cinema exhibitor and distributor in Malaysia. GSC has a total of 197 screens in 24 locations nationwide,
which include Klang Valley, Penang, Sungai Petani, Ipoh, Seremban, Melaka, Johor Bharu, Pahang and Kota Kinabalu.


Now as a token of appreciation to all their patrons and in conjunction with their Anniversary,GSC will be giving away not 1 but 25,000 movie tickets for its 2.50pm
show this Sunday (April 1st, 2012) in 23 GSC Cinemas Nationwide..I Kid You Not!! It Ain't No April Fools Joke Yo!!

Now How Do You Get Your Hands on Tickets?

The public need only present GSC newspaper cinema listings or GSC 25,000 tickets giveaway advertisement in selected newspapers to redeem the free tickets from 10am onwards onSunday(April 1st) in the participating GSC cinemas. Alternatively, the free ticket redemption coupons can be printed out from GSC website (www.gsc.com.my) or GSC Facebook (www.facebook.com/GSCinemas).

Do Take Note

  • Each redemption coupon or advertisement can be used to redeem two (2) tickets each for the same screening and each person will be limited to a maximum of four (4) tickets at GSC ticketing counters, on a first-come, first-served basis while tickets last
  • Only those age 12 years of age and above will be entitled to redeem the tickets. The free tickets will exclude GSC Signature, GSC Maxx, Gold Class, Premiere Class and Digital 3D movies. For movies classified 18, only those aged 18 and above will be allowed in the screening.

Amongst the selected titles for the 2.50pm April 1, 2012 screenings are “ Wrath of The Titans” in 35mm and digital 2D version, “Mirror Mirror”, “ Jangan Pandang Pandang” (BM), “The Soul of Bread”(Chinese), “One For The Money” (18), “The Vow”, “The Hunger Games”, “Marrying Mr Perfect” (Chinese), “ Nightfall”(Chinese-18) , “Jidin Sengal”(BM), “Love”(Chinese), “ John Carter” (digital 2D and 35mm format), “Dr Seuss’ The Lorax”, “A Simple Life” (Chinese) and “3X Trouble”(Chinese). Here's a short mention by Mr Irving Chee (GSC General Manager)

In his own words,Mr Irving Chee, “This is our way of thanking our customers for their continuous patronage and loyal support throughout these 25 remarkable years. GSC will continue to evolve and re-invent itself to meet the current needs of movie goers and to ensure an enriching movie going experience for movie fans”.

“We have allocated a total of 121 halls for the 25,000 seats, which basically accounts for around 68% of GSC total seating capacity nationwide”, he further elaborated.

GSC recently launched a new branding – GSC Lite with the opening of 6-screen GSC Lite Mentakab Star Mall on March 15, 2012. GSC Lite which embodies GSC’s cinema entertainment magic in a lighter, modest and accessible manner to cater to smaller market centre without compromising the effects of the big screen and digital sound hall similar to those available in GSC cinemas nationwide. This allows GSC customers to enjoy cinema-going experience at competitive prices.

Part of GSC’s activities this year include seven (7) new cinemas, first being GSC Lite Mentakab Star Mall and in the pipeline are 9-screen GSC Lite Bintang Megamall, Miri (3rd Q 2012).

GSC will also add a 9-screen GSC Setia City Mall in Shah Alam (June 2012), 9-screen GSC Paradigm Mall in Kelana Jaya (June 2012), 10-screen GSC City One Mall in Kuching (Q4 2012), 10-screen GSC Palm Mall in Seremban (Q 4 2012) , 8-screen Amanjaya Mall in Sungai Petani ( Quarter 3 2012). The 11-screen GSC Nu Sentral KL is expected to open sometime Q2, 2013. GSC has allocated more than RM84 million for the expansion plans for the eight new cinemas.

To commemorate GSC’s Silver Anniversary, key activities has been planned for the year, which includes this April 1st free screening, a 25th Anniversary dinner for key business associates and partners, a Nationwide contest (4th quarter) , Carnival Saturdays in key locations (4th quarter) and a major CSR project towards year end. GSC also plans to introduce GSC Mobile App (Android) for the Samsung Tab 10.1”, online purchase for concession items and include more payment mode for online purchase with Hong Leong Connect and AmBank Group in 2012.
